Must:
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in building high-traffic, transactional e-commerce platforms. You should possess strong expertise in C# / Java /.NET and database technologies, including MS SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and Oracle Endeca. Experience in API development using SOAP and RESTful services, along with familiarity with XML/JSON for seamless third-party integrations, is essential. A strong understanding of secure coding practices (OWASP), authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT), and encryption techniques is required. Additionally, experience integrating payment gateways, such as Cybersource, is important. Familiarity with digital marketing concepts (SEO, CRO, personalisation) and digital merchandising (search, recommendations, taxonomy management) will be beneficial. Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Selenium) is also desirable. You should have a strong understanding of caching strategies, load balancing, and performance optimisation techniques.
Responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure back-end services for our e-commerce applications. You will build and optimise RESTful and SOAP APIs for seamless integration with front-end applications and third-party platforms, including PIM, payment services, ERP, and CRM. Close collaboration with front-end engineers and digital teams will be necessary to support key e-commerce functionalities, such as product search, checkout, order tracking, and customer authentication. You will work together with our DevOps engineers to integrate CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools for performance optimisation. Additionally, you will implement and support caching mechanisms and performance enhancements to improve response times. Ensuring adherence to security best practices for authentication, authorisation, and data protection in compliance with UK regulations (UK-GDPR, PCI-DSS) is crucial. Staying updated with emerging technologies and best practices in e-commerce back-end development will also be part of your responsibilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our team in West Yorkshire on a hybrid basis, spending 2 days a week in the office. We offer a competitive salary range of £50,000-£62,000, along with a bonus and excellent benefits.
