Must:
We are looking for a junior front-end developer who has some professional experience using React and is eager to enhance their skills. The right candidate should have a competent grasp of JS and React web applications and ideally possess some experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, MS Azure). Knowledge of Git or other version control systems, along with some understanding of relational or non-relational databases, is also essential. You should have prior experience working in a collaborative software development environment, exhibit a proven ability to learn new skills quickly, and demonstrate strong initiative as well as the ability to collaborate effectively on projects. A portfolio of hobby projects that you can share and explain is a must.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will maintain and update our public and internal-facing web apps using TypeScript, React, and Next.js. You will collaborate with more senior colleagues to gather requirements, scope tasks, and deliver solutions for our internal teams. Writing clean, readable code that can be easily explained or presented to colleagues will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also learn about deployment, testing, and implementation of applications using deployment pipelines. Additionally, you will collaborate with the rest of the development team to discuss solutions and review and test others' code. Participation in our internal support rota for troubleshooting and low-level bug fixes on the platform is also expected. There may be opportunities for back-end Python development, and we are prepared to provide upskilling in this area if necessary.
Description
This is a hybrid role where you will need to be in our Stroud, Gloucestershire office three days a week. Having experience or a keen interest in the energy sector will be advantageous, along with any knowledge of agile development practices.
