Must:
To succeed in this role, you should be able to:
- Manage and support the Council's M365 environment.
- Provide support for existing Council applications and services.
- Manage and support the Council's Azure environment.
- Lead technical integrations and manage user change request configurations.
- Serve as the technical interface to our technology partners and align user requirements with appropriate technical solutions.
- Communicate effectively with employees and senior leadership regarding budget, application usage, and issues related to SaaS applications, including cyber security.
- Manage compliance services to ensure adherence to procedures and policies related to SaaS applications.
- Coordinate the delivery of critical SaaS services through software development plans in collaboration with partners and suppliers.
- Document tools and standards for software development, adhering to appropriate change control.
- Provide proactive liaison and support to service users, members, and partners to promote the development of key services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current IT market trends and best practices, assessing their relevance to the Council.
- Record, resolve, and escalate problems reported by users of corporate and business applications promptly.
- Manage access to software applications to ensure security.
- Develop processes for approving the use of new SaaS applications.
- Manage the overall IT budget effectively.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will ensure that corporate and service area cloud-based (SaaS) line of business systems are integrated and available to successfully deliver key services to residents. I will deliver and champion best practices for all cloud-based application development, supporting staff and members in optimizing our cloud-based IT and digital solutions. I will also liaise with cloud/SaaS suppliers and partners for problem analysis, support, and maintenance of key software applications, focusing on systems related to the statutory services of the organization, while helping to deliver our transformation roadmap and expected outcomes.
The SaaS Engineer role encompasses Software Engineering, Ops, DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security. As a SaaS Engineer, I will build and operate components of the SaaS Platform, addressing challenges throughout the stack from concept to customer, ensuring all solutions are inherently SaaS.
