Requirements

- Strong background in Azure Data Pipeline development
- Proficient in building and managing pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, CI/CD, and Terraform
- Experience with advanced SQL, T-SQL, and relational databases
- Knowledge of Python, Scala, C#, and .NET
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Terraform, BICEP, and ARM templates
- Understanding of distributed computing and cloud-native design patterns
- Expertise in data modeling, metadata management, and data quality
- Compliance knowledge with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR)
- Strong communication, empathy, determination, and openness to innovation
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365

Responsibilities
- Assist the Strategic Data Manager in managing an efficient Business Intelligence technical service
- Optimize ETL processes for performance and cost-efficiency
- Design scalable data models aligned with business needs
- Develop Azure data solutions for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Ensure data protection compliance and implement encryption and access controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
- Manage and tune Azure SQL Database instances
- Proactively monitor pipelines and infrastructure for performance and reliability
- Maintain technical documentation and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Deploy advanced analytics and machine learning solutions using Azure
- Stay current with Azure technologies and identify areas for enhancement

Description
We are a dynamic IT team based in Burton-on-Trent, offering a hybrid working arrangement with one day per week required in the office. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to support our initiatives in advancing cloud-based data platforms. The salary range for this position is between £60,000 and £67,000 per annum.
