Must:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with the following skills and experience:
- Expertise in Azure Databricks (Unity Catalog, DLT, cluster management).
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Stream Analytics, and Event Hubs.
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, C#, .NET, and SQL (T-SQL).
- Skilled in data modeling, quality, and metadata management.
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code using Azure DevOps and Terraform.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Exposure to machine learning engineering is desirable.
Responsibilities
As our Senior Data Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design, building, and maintenance of Azure data pipelines using Data Factory, Databricks, and related services.
- Develop and optimize scalable data models, warehouses, and lakes (Azure Synapse, Data Lake Storage).
- Enforce compliance and data protection standards (GDPR, DPA) through robust security and governance practices.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) via Azure DevOps.
- Optimize data systems for cost, performance, and reliability while proactively resolving platform issues.
- Collaborate closely with analysts and data scientists, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices.
- Explore new Azure technologies to enhance platform capabilities and analytics.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and share knowledge across teams.
Description
This is a full-time position, based in Burton on Trent, offering a competitive salary of £64-67k. The role requires you to be on-site one day per week.
