Requirements
Must:
- Expertise in modern Data Engineering
- Experience building and operating data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Strong foundations in data modelling, transformation, and orchestration
- Pragmatic approach to architecture decisions, balancing long-term thinking with delivery needs
- Commitment to continual improvement of data quality, discoverability, and usability
- Ability to build relationships across teams and with non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative, pragmatic, and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Set the direction for Data Engineering and build data foundations for scaling the company
- Oversee the entire data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, and modelling
- Ensure data accessibility and usability for internal teams and product use cases
- Build and improve trusted, self-serve data capabilities with clear ownership and governance
- Partner with Data Science and Platform teams to deliver secure, well-operated data systems
- Collaborate across Engineering and the wider business to reduce operational overheads
- Strengthen standards, simplify patterns, and improve maintainability and reliability
