Must:
As a candidate for the Network Operations Engineer position, you should have the following qualifications:
- Experience in Network Operational Support within a large institution or bank.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network-related issues.
- Solid understanding and experience of LAN and WAN technologies/protocols, as well as security-related technologies, including Fortigate FW & IDS, Fortigate FMG/FAZ, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Tetration.
- CCNP certification (or equivalent qualification/experience) is preferred.
- Experience working in a large multi-site, multi-protocol LAN & WAN environment.
- Hands-on experience with MPLS, Multicast, QoS, and Wireless technologies.
You may be assessed on key critical skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology proficiency, as well as job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
In the role of Network Operations Engineer, you will be tasked with the following accountabilities:
- Build Engineering: Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements while ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use. Identify appropriate technologies and solutions to optimize requirements.
- Incident Management: Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance, addressing and resolving potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages while utilizing data to reduce mean time to resolution.
- Automation: Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and minimize manual intervention through software scripting/coding disciplines.
- Security: Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks and security threats, ensuring protection of hardware, software, and data.
- Teamwork: Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements, devise solutions, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives using a data-driven approach.
- Learning: Stay informed about industry trends and technology innovations, contributing to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Description
This role supports our office in Knutsford, where you will be instrumental in building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure platforms and products that support our applications and data systems. As an Assistant Vice President, you will consult on complex issues, advise People Leaders to resolve escalated issues, and identify ways to mitigate risk while developing new policies/procedures to enhance control and governance.
You will take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls, work collaboratively across different areas to understand how they contribute to overall objectives, and engage in complex data analysis to creatively solve problems. Effective communication of complex information, sensitive or otherwise, will also be essential, as you will need to influence or convince stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
