Must:
To be successful as a Software Engineer, I am looking for candidates who have experience with one of the following object-oriented languages: C++, C#, or Java. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with business users, quants, and other technology teams. You should be comfortable and proactive in engaging with the business to gather requirements. Additionally, I value proficiency in SQL and a basic understanding of FX pricing. Candidates may be assessed on critical skills relevant to success in this role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills, as well as job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to design, develop, and improve software by utilizing various engineering methodologies that deliver business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring that your code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and devise solution strategies that align with business objectives. Active participation in code reviews, fostering a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, I want you to stay updated on industry technology trends and actively contribute to our technology communities to support a culture of technical excellence and growth, while adhering to secure coding practices and implementing effective unit testing to ensure code reliability.

This role will be based in our London office and comes with expectations for Assistant Vice Presidents, including the need to advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. You will work closely with various functions and business divisions, leading a team performing complex tasks and using your professional knowledge to impact the whole business function. If you are more of an individual contributor, you will lead collaborative assignments, guide team members through structured projects, and consult on complex issues. I want you to identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies to support our control and governance agenda. It is vital that you engage in complex data analysis and communicate complex information effectively to influence stakeholders towards desirable outcomes.
