Requirements
Must:
- A degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or another numerate discipline.
- Knowledge of complex materials processes and/or experience in applying numerical modelling codes/tools.
- Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) architectures.
- Programming and/or scripting experience in Python, Shell, MATLAB, or similar.
- Ability to provide technical input within one's own field of expertise that influences projects, teams, or end users.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and capable of handling multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Find novel modelling solutions to difficult real-world testing problems.
- Deliver representative models at all life cycle phases from ‘cradle to grave.’
- Coordinate cutting-edge projects with external academic partners.
- Inspire and develop future engineers and scientists.
- Ensure the right people, processes, and plant are in place to deliver current and future programmes.
- Safeguard the nation by ensuring our deterrent is credible, effective, and safe.
