Must:
As an ideal candidate, I am looking for someone with a strong passion for IT, possessing at least 2-3 years of experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager, or Senior ICT Consultant within a school setting. I need someone with an exceptional understanding of the requirements and responsibilities associated with working in an educational environment. Experience in upgrading a school IT Network system is essential. I seek a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by outstanding customer service abilities. It is important that you can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a knack for problem-solving and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for enhancing our services.
Responsibilities
In the role of IT Manager, I will expect you to oversee the management, installation, maintenance, availability, and security of the curriculum and administrative ICT network. You will be responsible for managing the school’s network infrastructure and ICT applications, monitoring and maintaining key systems, including switches, virtual and physical server environments, Microsoft 365, and backups. Providing technical support and training to staff will be essential to ensure effective use of our systems. I will need you to manage daily IT operations, ensuring that all requests are handled efficiently. Additionally, you will line manage ICT support staff and provide 2nd and 3rd line support. Regular communication will be necessary; I expect you to send a weekly service update email and prepare a monthly service review report detailing any SLA failures. You will also enforce and monitor compliance with school policies and help train internal staff.
Description
This full-time role offers a salary of up to £37,000. Benefits include a salary sacrifice pension scheme, an employee assistance program, discounts through an online retail scheme, and options for electric/hybrid car leasing, cycle and e-bike schemes, and eye care vouchers. As part of the Transforming Learning Group (TLG), I offer a friendly and supportive work environment that values diversity and flexibility. TLG provides a range of ICT support, including MIS support and GDPR services, to over 5,000 schools. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all employees to share this commitment. I am happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
