Requirements
Must:
- I require a strong knowledge of the Java programming language and any mainstream JVM.
- You should have knowledge of common distributed architecture patterns.
- Familiarity with a major cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS will be an added advantage, though not a must-have for this role.
- Understanding of SRE, TDD, and agile development practices will also be beneficial.
- I expect excellent oral and written English communication skills. You must be able to work alongside users and effectively communicate with the wider developer community in our firm.
Responsibilities
- You will work as a developer on projects focused on increasing the scalability of our core real-time risk management system.
- I expect you to contribute to design and architecture discussions at a senior level.
- You will maintain the platform by sharing support responsibilities with the rest of the team.
Description
We are searching for a developer to work on our core real-time risk management system. This system processes roughly 50 million trade events daily and calculates risk and collateral on millions of positions in real-time, responding to market events and client trading activity. I need someone who can rewrite specific components of this system to be distributed and cloud-ready. Additionally, you will help build a scalable data processing and querying pipeline for the computation results produced by the system. In this role, you are expected to become familiar with our group's functional domain and the daily challenges faced by the system's users. Your active participation in team discussions regarding system design, architecture, and features is highly encouraged, and interaction with users will be a key part of your responsibilities.
