Requirements
Must:
- Strong practical experience in Python for data workflows and automation
- Advanced SQL skills (optimisation, analytical functions, modelling)
- Experience in ETL/ELT pipeline design, build, and orchestration
- Proficiency in Docker and containerisation
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Knowledge of version control (Git)
- Ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly
- Enjoyment in working with people and commitment to helping others succeed
- Strong ownership and follow-through
- Eye for process improvement and organisation
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with Airflow, Prefect, dbt, or cloud-native orchestration
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation
- Understanding of data warehousing fundamentals (star schema, staging patterns)
Responsibilities
- Coach working professionals through our Data Engineering programme
- Deliver engaging practical coaching sessions on engineering concepts and tools
- Guide learners through PRISM-based projects, building real pipelines and debugging problems
- Provide clear, constructive feedback on code, architectural decisions, and system design
- Coach on engineering habits like version control discipline and structured problem-solving
- Run 1:1 coaching conversations to build confidence and momentum
- Track learner progress and intervene early when someone is struggling
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Collaborate with the wider coaching and quality teams
- Contribute to the evolution of the programme and implement teaching improvements
- Coach on various programme types beyond skills-levy programmes when needed
- Get involved in the launch of new products throughout 2026
