Requirements
Must:
- 6+ years experience in Python/Java and MySQL/PostgresSQL with familiarity with modern development frameworks.
- Demonstrated polyglot ability and eager willingness to dive into any code base, especially with familiarity in Python/Django, Java, and ideally Rust.
- Experience in breaking apart monoliths using appropriate strategies.
- Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders and coordinate across multiple teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving ability in both code and non-code scenarios.
- Passion for developer productivity and keeping pace with AI advancements, with a mindset to leverage AI-coding assistants daily to enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead discrete areas of Rails monolith decommission as we transition to non-Ruby ecosystems ensuring smooth transitions and feature minimization.
- Identify and support broader engineering efforts that facilitate effective decommissioning across multiple teams.
- Ensure a comprehensive test suite is in place, including integration tests and end-to-end testing with our existing mobile app testing infrastructure.
- Create documentation for system architecture, API specifications, and deployment procedures.
- Implement performance monitoring and observability tools to enhance system reliability.
