Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 6 years experience in garment technology or product development within performance, sportswear, or technical apparel
- Demonstrated experience owning product categories end-to-end through development and bulk production
- Exceptional attention to detail across specifications, communication, and sample evaluation
- Strong expertise in stretch garment construction, technical fabrics, grading, and testing protocols
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and core Microsoft Office tools
- Exposure to seamless manufacturing is advantageous
- Technically rigorous with strong appreciation for design intent and product performance
- Confident communicator across internal teams and international manufacturing partners
- Proactive, accountable, and comfortable operating with ownership in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine interest in performance apparel, movement, and innovation
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical development across all styles within an assigned product category
- Create, manage, and maintain highly detailed technical packs as the single source of truth for production
- Develop and manage garment specifications and size grading throughout the full lifecycle
- Maintain and evolve core block libraries to ensure consistency of fit and construction
- Chair fit sessions, align cross-functional teams on feedback, and clearly communicate amendments to factories
- Recommend commercially viable construction methods and material solutions, balancing quality, performance, and cost
- Manage approvals for care labels, testing reports, and AQL documentation
- Ensure all production garments meet approved specifications and quality benchmarks prior to shipment
- Oversee shipment sample approvals, maintaining strict sign-off standards
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across development and production
- Lead root-cause analysis on faulty garments and implement corrective actions to reduce returns
- Partner with internal teams to coordinate garment and fabric testing programmes
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for nominated manufacturing partners
- Manage development progress, resolve technical queries, and ensure adherence to timelines
- Build strong, trust-based supplier relationships to support innovation and competitive advantage
- Travel to manufacturing sites as required to support development and production
- Collaborate cross-functionally on material, trim, and branding developments from a technical and sourcing perspective
- Attend supplier meetings and fabric showcases to source high-performance materials
- Support structured wear-testing programmes and integrate feedback into product improvements
- Maintain and update critical product development documentation and planning tools
- Effectively prioritise workload to meet key development and production milestones
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, supporting capability growth
- Work collaboratively with commercial and digital teams to ensure product information accuracy
Description
We are a high-growth, design-led performance apparel brand seeking an experienced Technical Developer to join our team. This role is central to our product function, where you will take full ownership of a product category from initial design handover through to development, costing, fit validation, technical approval, and bulk production sign-off. Youll collaborate closely with global manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders to ensure all products meet our highest standards of quality, performance, and commercial viability.
