We are looking for a Deskside Engineer who is highly skilled in providing effective technical support for hardware and software issues, including diagnosis and troubleshooting. You should have experience troubleshooting Windows 7-10 and mobile devices (iOS/Android), along with in-depth knowledge of performing hardware and software support for desktop and end-client computing. A proven record of performing hardware repairs on customer equipment such as servers, desktops, notebooks, tablets, and printers is essential. You should also demonstrate the ability to perform software upgrades and configuration enhancements. Familiarity with LAN/WAN protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP is a must, and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 support and MS Intune is preferred. Microsoft certification and ITIL qualifications are also desirable.
Responsibilities
As a Deskside Engineer, you will visit customer locations to resolve issues with computer systems and networks. Your key responsibilities will include installing, upgrading, supporting, and troubleshooting XP, Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office 2007/2010/2016, and any other authorized desktop applications. You will also handle support queries related to printers, computer hardware, and other peripheral equipment. Additional tasks include providing user data and application recovery, managing email accounts and user accounts on Active Directory, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, and performing general preventative maintenance and repairs on computers, laptops, and printers. Furthermore, you will customize desktop hardware to meet user specifications and carry out configurations for deployment using diagnostic tools and methodologies.
Description
This position is fully onsite in Histon, UK, and is a permanent role. You will be part of a shift pattern from Monday to Friday and may need to work unsociable hours as required. Open availability for a 24/7/365 work schedule is essential. We are looking for someone who is committed and ready to deliver excellent support to our customers.
