Requirements
Must:
We seek candidates who have experience as a Data Engineer, specifically those who are familiar with scalable systems. You should have fluent Python coding skills and experience with at least one streaming technology, preferably Kafka. Strong SQL skills (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and a solid understanding of AWS (ideally including S3 and Lambda) are essential. Additionally, a good comprehension of data modeling and batch/streaming ETL/ELT patterns is crucial. We value collaboration and pragmatism, so great communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in designing, building, and operating our data pipelines and services that power learning experiences for millions of students. In this collaborative environment, you will work alongside software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to enhance your expertise. You will develop and maintain reliable data pipelines for both real-time streaming and batch workloads, assist with the evolution of our Lakehouse, and collaborate with analytics, product, and machine learning teams to ensure data accessibility, trustworthiness, and reusability. We encourage you to contribute ideas and explore new and emerging technologies.
Description
This position is based in London, where you will join the team four days a week, with the flexibility to work from home once a week. In return for your expertise and contributions, we offer a competitive salary of up to £80,000, 25 days of holiday, private medical insurance, and opportunities for training and certifications.
