Requirements
Must:
- Strong backend software engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with Kafka and Event Driven Architectures
- Good knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, and scalable system architecture
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Strong appreciation of DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker), cloud services (AWS), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects and mentoring more junior team members
- Collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills
Responsibilities
As a Senior Back End Developer, I will be joining our team as we scale our product to support millions of users. I will design and deliver high-quality, maintainable backend code and features aligned with established codebase architectural standards and covered by tests. My role will involve supporting backend system performance and reliability, helping to maintain a 99% uptime SLA. I will design, implement, and extend robust APIs and microservices that support gameplay, user management, as well as platform and content management systems. I will collaborate with both product and game teams to ensure alignment of features with backend architecture and work with DevOps to ensure uptime, observability, and deployment reliability.
Description
This is a senior role where I will take ownership of complex systems and proactively address potential performance and scalability bottlenecks. I can work from home from anywhere in the UK but must be a UK citizen or hold the right to work without visa restrictions. The salary for this position is up to £80k, and I will enjoy remote working, private medical care, life assurance, 25 days of holiday plus my birthday off, and an impactful role with excellent career progression as the company scales.
