Requirements
Must:
- I have commercial experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) within a High Frequency Trading (HFT), low latency, or web scraping environment.
- I possess strong Bash or Python scripting skills.
- I have multi-cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure preferred).
- I have a strong knowledge of Linux.
- I have experience with forward proxy tools, e.g., Squid.
- I have experience managing third-party vendors.
- I am collaborative and pragmatic, with excellent communication skills.
- I hold a technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ideally, I also have some experience with one of the following: Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK stack/Splunk), or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
Responsibilities
In this role, I will join a small team responsible for the 24x7x365 globally distributed ethical web scraping function, supporting a multi-region high frequency operation. I will proactively identify, analyze, drive, and own performance and process improvements. Additionally, I will collaborate closely with the development team on architecture and prioritization, as well as with the infrastructure team on common infrastructure improvements across the estate.

I have the opportunity to progress my career at a highly profitable High Frequency Trading firm that specializes in crypto markets, in a hands-on Platform Engineer role. My work location will be in Central London, with flexibility to work from home twice a week (please note there is an on-call requirement). As a Platform Engineer, I will receive a competitive package, including a salary up to £100k, a bonus (approximately 50% of base), pension, hybrid working, and opportunities for career progression.
