Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates who have strong experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, particularly with a focus on Azure (GCP experience is also considered). You should possess deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including Azure AKS, along with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting capabilities. Experience in designing and managing cloud environments, including compute, storage, networking, and security components, is essential. A solid understanding of Linux and virtualization technologies, particularly VMware, is required. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation, is important. Coding skills in Python or Golang for automation are also necessary. You should have a strong grasp of cloud security best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies. Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership is expected. We value candidates who are collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication skills. A degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is required.

Responsibilities

As the Lead Platform Engineer, you will design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on Azure. You will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to define cloud architecture and implement best practices. Your responsibilities will include handling BAU activities, designing and building for new projects, and modernizing our tech stack from Virtual Machines to Kubernetes. You will work closely with Backend Software Engineers to create platforms for developers. Your role will involve monitoring cloud infrastructure performance, identifying issues, and implementing solutions to ensure high availability and reliability. You will aim to optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency while maintaining performance and security standards. Additionally, you will mentor another Platform Engineer in London and collaborate on global initiatives with the wider team.
