We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Data & Machine Learning Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data architecture and machine learning, along with the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing logical and physical data models, primarily using PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in building and managing robust data pipelines to ingest, clean, and unify data from various sources, including APIs and sensors, using tools like Dagster.
- Ability to select appropriate storage and processing technologies tailored to the system's needs.
- Knowledge of data governance policies and experience ensuring compliance with standards such as GDPR.
- Strong skills in optimizing data infrastructure for performance and scalability.
- Experience in developing machine learning models, especially for time-series forecasting.
- Capability to manage data preparation and transformation for model training and evaluation.
- Understanding of designing experiments, tuning hyperparameters, and iterating on models to enhance performance.
- Experience in deploying models into production environments and monitoring their performance.
- Ability to establish retraining workflows and manage model updates as systems and data evolve.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project managers and stakeholders to align data and ML capabilities with strategic initiatives.
- Experience in gathering requirements and collaborating with business teams for actionable data pipelines, storage solutions, and ML workflows.
Responsibilities
As the Lead Data & Machine Learning Architect, you will have ownership of the data architecture, driving the development and deployment of machine learning models to contribute to the strategic use of data across the organization. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining logical and physical data models using PostgreSQL.
- Building and managing robust data pipelines to integrate, clean, and unify data from various sources.
- Selecting suitable storage and processing technologies based on system requirements.
- Defining and enforcing data governance policies while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Optimizing data infrastructure for performance and scalability to handle growing data needs.
- Leading the development of machine learning models, especially focusing on time-series forecasting tasks.
- Managing the transformation and preparation of datasets for model training and evaluation.
- Designing and executing experiments along with tuning hyperparameters and iterating on models to enhance performance.
- Deploying machine learning models into production and monitoring their performance continuously.
- Establishing workflows for model retraining and managing updates as business needs evolve.
- Closely collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to ensure the alignment of data strategies and new project initiatives.
- Working with business teams to gather clear, actionable requirements for data and modeling workflows.
