Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a leader in User Centered Design
- Experience managing User Centered Design professionals (Service Designers, Interaction Designers, UX Designers)
- Experience mentoring junior designers across a wide range of design disciplines
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering User Centered Design projects
- Strong knowledge of UCD methodologies
- Experience working on large transformational pieces of work
- Familiarity with accessible design standards
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 8 User Centered Design professionals
- Take charge of the Design Strategy for a core business service
- Ensure design work meets accessibility and Gov Digital Design Standards
- Champion awareness of UCD across the organisation
- Ensure clear direction and strategy for the UCD design community
- Manage the design service, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Effectively manage stakeholder relationships
