Must:
I am looking for a Software Engineer with proven experience in developing bare-metal embedded software in C/C++. You must have a strong understanding of the full software lifecycle, including requirements and verification processes. Experience with requirements management and version control tools such as DOORS, GIT, or RTC is essential. You should possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively solve complex technical issues. Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation are critical for this role. Desirable qualifications include experience working to DO-178C, SIL-4, or similar safety integrity standards, familiarity with tools like LDRA, RAPITA, or SCADE, as well as knowledge of defence or aerospace systems and microcontroller-based development. Experience in Python, C++, or modeling tools for simulation or testing would also be an advantage.
Responsibilities
In this role, I need you to develop, test, and verify embedded software in C/C++ for safety-critical real-time systems. You will work across the full software lifecycle, which includes requirements capture, design, implementation, integration, and formal verification. Supporting system integration and debugging using equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers will also be a part of your duties. It will be essential for you to create and maintain accurate technical documentation that meets our safety and quality standards. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with systems, electronics, and integration engineers to ensure compliance with safety-critical standards such as DO-178C Level B or equivalent.
Description
I am offering a competitive rate of £70 per hour via umbrella, available for a 6-month contract with likely extensions. This position is based onsite in Stevenage, with some hybrid work flexibility. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence and aerospace projects while contributing to a leading defence technology company.
