Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in Defence or secure government environments. You should have a strong background as a Solution or Technical Architect, specifically with Microsoft-based identity solutions. Expertise in Windows Server 2022 and Active Directory (AD) architecture, ADFS configuration, and claims-based authentication is essential. You should have experience designing Single Sign-On (SSO) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models, as well as a solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as DNS, routing, firewalls, and load balancing. Demonstrated leadership and the ability to mentor technical teams are crucial, along with excellent communication and documentation skills. Desirable skills include Microsoft certifications (e.g., Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Solutions Architect Expert), experience with hybrid identity environments, and PowerShell scripting for identity automation.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will architect and lead the implementation of an on-premise identity solution using Windows Server 2022, AD, and ADFS. You will define the technical direction, standards, and design principles for the identity environment. Mentoring engineering teams throughout the delivery and support phases will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will design and configure federation services with other on-premise identity providers and implement SSO and RBAC models. Collaboration with cross-functional teams across security, networking, infrastructure, and applications will be essential. You will also produce detailed architecture documentation, including diagrams and operational guidelines, and provide ongoing technical governance and support post-deployment.
Description
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on architecting a robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform using Microsoft technologies. We require only sole British nationals who hold active and transferable DV clearance. This is a 9-month initial contract position located in Wiltshire, with a rate of £700 per day. We seek a confident leader capable of driving design decisions and influencing technical direction, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
