Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have a proven background in identity engineering or infrastructure roles within secure environments. The essential skills and experience include strong hands-on expertise with Windows Server 2022, Active Directory (design, replication, GPOs), ADFS (claims-based authentication, trust configuration), and federation protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect). A solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, routing, and firewalls, is necessary. Candidates should have experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or similar private cloud technologies and prior experience working in Defence or National Security environments. We also specify that applicants must be sole British nationals (no dual nationality) and possess active and transferable DV clearance.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and configuring identity infrastructure using Windows Server 2022, Active Directory, and ADFS. You will implement federation services, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Collaborating with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to ensure seamless integration will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also maintain technical documentation and support operational transition, provide ongoing support including incident resolution, patching, and performance optimization, and identify opportunities for automation and service hardening.
Description
This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in Microsoft identity technologies and secure authentication practices. The position is based in Wiltshire and is a full-time on-site opportunity with an initial contract duration of 9 months. The daily rate for this position ranges from 500 to 550. Candidates with additional desirable skills, such as being Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (or equivalent), experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools for identity services, and exposure to hybrid identity models (on-prem/cloud) will have an advantage. Strong documentation and problem-solving abilities are also essential for success in this position.
