Must:
We require a highly skilled Information Assurance & Cyber Security Specialist with valid SC Clearance to join our team. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of systems, information and security risks, including threat intelligence and detection. You should have significant experience with MOD, Home Office, and wider HMG security and accreditation processes, as well as an understanding of cyber security industry best practices, benchmark certifications, and emerging trends. Familiarity with cloud hosting principles and their security implications for UK sovereign bodies is essential.
Proven experience is necessary in the following areas:
- Information Assurance risk management (aligned with HMG policy)
- System accreditation and re-accreditation
- IS27001/2 compliance
- CHECK certification requirements and ITHC
- Architecture, system design, and lifecycle
- Privacy & Regulatory Impact Assessments
- Physical security reviews
Certifications such as Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are desirable.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead efforts on HMG systems, information, and security risk management by providing expert accreditation and assurance. You will conduct Information Assurance risk assessments and complete Privacy & Regulatory Impact Assessments. Furthermore, providing security accreditation, waivers, and go-live approvals in line with delegated authority and client risk appetite will be part of your duties.
Your responsibilities will also include delivering monthly IA risk and issue briefings to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), chairing and operating Client Security Working Groups (SWGs), and supporting incident response and remediation activities in coordination with the Client OSM. You will undertake physical security site inspections and approvals to agreed standards, ensure ongoing third-party compliance and threat mitigation, and maintain accurate and auditable records in a decision log. Balancing delivery between BAU, emerging requirements, and operational priorities while utilizing tools such as JIRA and Confluence will also be part of your role.

Join us in safeguarding sensitive systems and ensuring compliance with HMG policies while managing the accreditation lifecycle and supporting operational priorities and security governance activities. You will collaborate with a small team of domain experts, working closely with the Client IA team to ensure effective risk management. We value a metrics-driven, disciplined approach to delivery and reporting. This position requires active SIFA Level 5 Security Clearance, with a contract duration from 01/11/2025 to 30/04/2026, offering a rate of £550 per day (Inside IR35).
