Must:
We are seeking candidates with strong proficiency in Python, including modern data engineering libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Dask, Polars, and PySpark. You should have experience in designing or maintaining distributed systems or microservice architectures. A background as a software engineer or data engineer is preferred, especially with experience in energy markets, particularly in the UK or Europe. We value strong communication and collaboration skills, as you will be working directly with internal teams and clients. Knowledge of SaaS or product environments and a keen interest in working within the rapidly evolving energy tech space are also important.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be a key member of our Algorithms team, collaborating closely with clients, product managers, and domain experts. You will design, build, and optimize Python-based algorithms and distributed components that power our energy forecasting and pricing workflows. Additionally, you will contribute to system architecture decisions regarding microservices, APIs, and distributed computing layers. You will also collaborate directly with stakeholders to translate business and market logic into maintainable, scalable software. Leading by example through clean, efficient coding, mentoring, and conducting peer reviews will be essential. You will continuously evolve our distributed software stack, improving performance and reliability across platforms.
