Requirements
Must:
- I have over 5 years of experience in an IT support role, with at least 2 years at a senior or advanced technician level, preferably in an outsourced or managed IT services environment.
- I possess strong technical proficiency, including:
  - Implementation of Microsoft Defender and Entra ID, along with configuring conditional access policies and responding to incidents.
  - Backup administration: Setting up, deploying, and maintaining reliable backup solutions for data security and recovery.
  - Administration of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
  - Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  - Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or similar).
  - Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  - Management of end-user devices (Windows, Mac, and mobile OS).
- I have experience with cybersecurity fundamentals, including firewall configurations, antivirus management, multi-factor authentication, and basic incident response.
- I demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, or Cisco CCNA are preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a client-focused approach to technical support.
- I exhibit strong organisational skills, managing my time effectively, prioritising tasks, and handling multiple client needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience assisting with or leading technical projects, such as system migrations or infrastructure upgrades, is a benefit.
Responsibilities
- I will provide high-level technical support for IT incidents and service requests, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly to minimise client downtime.
- I will act as a primary escalation point for complex technical issues that junior technicians cannot resolve.
- I will perform advanced administration and maintenance on client systems, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
- I will monitor and troubleshoot network performance, resolving connectivity issues, implementing firewall and security configurations, and managing VPN setups.
- I will collaborate on client projects, such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, and infrastructure deployments, ensuring timely and quality completion.
- I will maintain clear and professional communication with clients, providing updates on issue resolution, project status, and ongoing maintenance work.
- I will create and maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, network setups, and technical processes.
- I will support the development of junior technicians by providing training, guidance, and oversight on technical procedures and client interactions.
- I will use monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential system issues before they impact clients.
- I will ensure compliance with industry best practices, including security standards, data protection policies, and ITIL frameworks as applicable.
