Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience across Rights of Light, Daylight & Sunlight, Party Wall and related boundary/access matters.
- Strong understanding of the associated legal, planning and technical frameworks.
- Well-established network across developers, investors, architects, planners and legal advisers.
- Proven ability to mobilise teams, resolve challenges and achieve results.
- Demonstrable success in winning work, growing client accounts and protecting margin.
- MRICS/FRICS preferred, or equivalent standing through experience and market reputation.
- Energetic self-starter who leads from the front and delivers at pace.
- Comfortable with modelling tools and working alongside data and technology specialists to enhance outputs.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the growth strategy for Neighbourly Matters, identifying priority sectors and routes to market.
- Convert relationships into revenue through executive-level engagement and programme or portfolio appointments.
- Lead major bids, proposals and commercial negotiations.
- Act as a visible ambassador for the Neighbourly Matters capability in the market.
- Act as trusted adviser to developers, investors, architects and legal professionals at early project stages.
- Work closely with other service lines to create integrated, cross-disciplinary solutions.
- Raise external profile through speaking engagements, publications and involvement in professional groups.
- Oversee delivery of complex instructions across Rights of Light, Daylight & Sunlight, Party Wall and boundary/access matters.
- Provide senior technical quality assurance and lead on high-risk or sensitive cases.
- Drive continuous improvement in methodologies, modelling, analysis and reporting standards.
- Recruit, mentor and scale a specialist team with clear performance expectations and development pathways.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive culture across offices and disciplines.
- Align workforce planning and capability building to the growth plan.
- Encourage smarter ways of working through improved tools, data use, visualisation and BIM integration.
- Assess and adopt appropriate software and data solutions in partnership with internal technology teams.
- Manage the financial performance of the service line including pricing, utilisation, WIP and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal standards.
