We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:
- Must have a full UK Driving License.
- Solid knowledge of Linux and comfort with CLI (Bash, SSH, systemd, etc.).
- Working experience with Docker and container-based workflows.
- Familiarity with vCenter / ESXi or similar virtualization tools.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, firewalls).
- Ability to troubleshoot services like NGINX, Apache, MySQL/PostgreSQL.
- Strong attention to documentation and follow-through on tasks.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and a passion for IT.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and server management.
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud computing concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL database management and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Experience with office productivity tools such as Excel is advantageous.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality IT support.
Responsibilities
As our Systems Administrator, you will be tasked with the following:
- Manage and maintain Windows servers and workstations, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Maintain and support Linux-based servers (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
- Work with virtualization platforms, especially VMware vCenter.
- Deploy and troubleshoot Docker containers and manage related services.
- Help build and maintain internal and client-facing infrastructure.
- Set up and manage networking (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs).
- Monitor systems, handle updates and patching, and respond to incidents.
- Provide on-site networking support.
- Collaborate with a technical team on infrastructure design and improvements.
- Configure and manage DNS settings for reliable network connectivity.
- Provide technical support to users, addressing issues promptly while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to identify areas for improvement within the infrastructure.
- Maintain documentation for systems configurations, processes, and procedures.
