Requirements
Must:
- I hold a degree in an IT-related discipline.
- I have demonstrable experience with Nutanix and VMWare hyperconverged and infrastructure environments, including cloud and on-premises virtual storage and server environments.
- I am familiar with the latest Server OS features and backup/restore technologies.
- I have experience administering, configuring, and designing multisite and hybrid cloud enterprise hyperconverged environments.
- I possess a good understanding of hyperconverged, storage, and backup infrastructure roadmaps, as well as the ability to evaluate their applicability for business productivity solutions in accordance with the Digital and Data strategy.
- I have experience deploying hybrid cloud virtual compute and backup infrastructure solutions, such as multisite hyperconverged infrastructure and cloud backup/restore technologies.
- I am adept at performing impact assessments of relevant hyperconverged, virtualization, and backup environment infrastructure updates.
- I have experience with integrations and migration paths from on-premises solutions to cloud solutions.
- I can analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- I have designed virtualization, storage, backup, and restore infrastructure environments.
- I have extensive knowledge of supporting technologies such as Nutanix, VMWare, Hypervisors, Windows server operating systems, and Azure virtual storage.
- I possess strong storage and backup/restore process knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent customer service ethos.
- I have technical and governance documentation skills, along with knowledge of working across backup and restore, hyperconverged, and compute environments to ensure the best use of technology for business needs.
- I am skilled in advanced troubleshooting across VMWare and MS servers.
- I have knowledge of scripting technologies relevant for systems administration in virtual server environments.
Responsibilities
- I will manage and develop hyperconverged infrastructure.
- I will implement solutions that align with our Digital and Data Strategy.
- I will set best practices and maintain technical documentation.
- I will provide 3rd line IT support and handle escalations.
- I will manage complex support issues and projects.
- I will research and implement solutions based on business needs.
- I will mentor junior team members and lead knowledge transfer.
- I will promote automation across workloads.
- I will ensure data backup, restore, and disaster recovery readiness.
- I will collaborate with the Cyber Security and Data Protection Officer.
- I will work with external suppliers to implement solutions.
- I will stay updated with emerging cloud technologies.
- I will participate in the Out of Hours 24/7 support rota.

The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SD, with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
