Requirements
Must:
- Experience in a similar role within Finance/HR or ICT systems and training experience.
- Familiarity with finance system reporting tools.
- Experience in a client-facing role.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- A self-motivated team player with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with all levels of the organization.
- A methodical and analytical approach to work, demonstrating attention to detail.
- Ability to drive change and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Business World System Team to continuously improve core financial and HR system processes, controls, and performance to enhance efficiency and streamline practices.
- Participate in project teams for system enhancements, standard upgrades, and new system implementations.
- Support the development of a System driving license based on role to ensure effective usage of the Business World system across the organization.
- Provide technical expertise to assist the wider business.
- Develop and deliver training to staff throughout the organization.
- Ensure timely resolution or escalation of all Business World issues or requests.
- Manage a proactive ERP help desk service to support, troubleshoot, upskill, and implement improvements for our customers, including monitoring Help Desk KPIs to drive further enhancements.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Business World service desk, ensuring appropriate controls are implemented and optimal system performance is maintained.
- Test and document all internal processes and procedures related to Business World, ensuring they are up to date and utilized across the organization.
- Control and restrict system access in line with WMCA policy to ensure data integrity within Business World and linked systems.
- Support in assessing and rectifying identified control weaknesses.

As a key member of our team, you will help ensure the smooth operation, security, and continuous improvement of our Business World ERP system while empowering our staff to use it confidently and consistently. This is a Fixed Term Contract with an expected end date of 31st March 2026. Our office is located at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SD, and we require at least 2 days a week to be spent in the office.
