Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments
- Solid understanding of Azure architecture, networking, IAM, security, and governance constructs
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, including implementation and tuning
- Familiarity with Prisma Cloud (Palo Alto) for cloud security posture management (CSPM)
- Proven background designing, implementing, and validating cloud security controls
- Ability to interpret and apply security frameworks, best practices, and compliance
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of existing Azure environments to identify gaps and recommend appropriate cloud security controls
- Translate findings into actionable recommendations aligned with organizational security frameworks
- Define, implement, and operationalize cloud security controls across Azure and other cloud platforms
- Validate and test security controls to ensure reliability, effectiveness, alignment with security policies, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed controls early in the design and build lifecycle (shift-left security)
- Offer insights and thought leadership on cloud security best practices, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Partner with teams exploring AI agents, AI-enabled workloads, and emerging technologies, ensuring these innovations are built and deployed securely
- Help define guardrails and security patterns for next-generation cloud initiatives

We are currently seeking a Cloud Security Engineer for a contract role within our Strategic Resourcing services team. This position will support a WWT customer and requires a hybrid work setup in Ipswich, United Kingdom, with three days onsite per week.
