Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining enterprise-level server infrastructure, specifically with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Strong knowledge in network architecture, including LAN/WAN, WIFI, firewalls, VPNs, and routing.
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.
- Ability to monitor system performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Experience implementing robust cybersecurity measures, including vulnerability management and compliance.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades.
- Proficiency in administering Microsoft 365/Office 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Co-Pilot, Intune, and security/compliance configurations.
- Previous local government experience is preferred.
- Capability to provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and maintenance for the enterprise-level server infrastructure.
- Manage and troubleshoot network architecture to ensure secure connectivity.
- Offer technical support regarding backup solutions and disaster recovery.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, identifying potential issues before they arise.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and manage vulnerabilities.
- Lead infrastructure projects, overseeing migrations and upgrades.
- Administer and manage Microsoft 365/Office 365 environments, maintaining security and compliance.
- Document and enforce IT policies to ensure adherence.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff, sharing expertise and fostering professional development.
Description
We are offering a temporary, part-time position based in Essex, requiring the successful candidate to be on-site for two days a week. The contract lasts for 2-3 months initially, with a daily rate of £500 via umbrella. An immediate start is available, and we will conduct interviews on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
