Must:
I am looking for someone with a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent experience. You should have strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and React. Additionally, I expect you to demonstrate the ability to design and develop intuitive, high-performance, and secure user interfaces. Familiarity with source control systems, branching strategies, and release processes is essential. A solid understanding of modern front-end architecture and component-driven design, such as reusable components, hooks, and state management, is required. You should also have a strong grasp of UI/UX principles, particularly in data-driven environments. Knowledge of software engineering and secure coding best practices, along with an understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts and data handling in enterprise systems, will be beneficial. I value high attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality, user-focused solutions, as well as an awareness of how infrastructure and deployment choices impact UI performance.
Responsibilities
As the UI Developer, you will design and build robust, scalable user interface solutions that clearly and meaningfully present data to both internal and external users. Your key responsibilities will include developing tools and visualizations for the Substation360 platform, including dashboards, alerts, and user insights. You will lead by example within the team, providing technical mentoring and guidance to junior developers. You will actively participate in Agile development practices such as sprint planning and retrospectives. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all delivered software meets coding and quality standards, including participation in peer code reviews. Additionally, you will contribute to the deployment and orchestration of services, including containerization using platforms like Kubernetes.
Description
I am offering a salary of up to £50,000 per annum, with flexibility depending on experience. You will have genuine pathways for career development, allowing for growth and progression within our company. We provide 25 days of annual leave (FTE) plus bank holidays, and an additional day every three years (up to 30 days), with the option to buy five extra days. Our pension plan includes an 8% employer contribution (or cash equivalent).
