Must:
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer who has proven expertise in backend software development using C#, .NET, and object-oriented programming. You should have strong SQL knowledge and the ability to write and maintain complex queries. Familiarity with developing and configuring highly reusable, modular code libraries is essential, as well as experience with integration-focused work, particularly in message processing, data translation, and interfacing with third-party systems. An understanding of RESTful APIs and web service communication is crucial. Exposure to legacy technologies, including VB.NET and .NET Framework, is desired. Additionally, you should have experience working with and developing Windows services and backend processing applications.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain reusable C# component libraries used for integrating third-party applications with our internal systems. You will build and configure instances of a Windows service engine to support message processing and data repository population. Developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining backend integration services using .NET 8 and object-oriented principles will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with team members to support technical troubleshooting, component configuration, and ongoing system maintenance. Additionally, you will provide mentoring and technical support to junior developers, contributing to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing team culture. You will also support the Test Analyst function by ensuring solutions are testable and reliable, and contribute to team meetings, kick-offs, and planning sessions, primarily working remotely with some in-office time expected during onboarding and collaboration periods. Maintaining awareness of technical developments and applying best practices in software development and integration will also be part of your role.

We are offering a competitive salary range of £36,000 - £47,000 for this hybrid position based in Newport.
