Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a proactive Security Engineer with strong experience in using Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM) and the Microsoft Defender suite (including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Cloud, etc.). You should have a proven track record in security monitoring, incident response, and alert troubleshooting. A working knowledge of SOAR platforms, preferably within Sentinel or similar environments, is essential. Additionally, an understanding of threat detection, log analysis, and automation within Microsoft's security ecosystem is required.
Responsibilities
As a Security Engineer, you will monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents in Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender. You will perform detailed security event analysis and correlation, escalating incidents when necessary. Developing and optimizing SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response) playbooks to enhance incident response and efficiency will be part of your duties. You will also collaborate with our wider IT and security teams to improve threat detection, incident handling, and response processes.
Description
This position is a 3-month contract with a requirement to be onsite 2 days a week in Northampton and 3 days remote. We also value beneficial experience, including exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments, experience with Tenable (vulnerability management), and knowledge of Microsoft Purview (data governance, compliance, and information protection).
