Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in engineering leadership, preferably leading or managing developers.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, and developing skills for junior engineers.
- Ability to shape best practices, processes, and team culture.
- Familiarity with any of the following technologies is beneficial:
- Python
- AWS serverless (Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway)
- React / JavaScript
- REST APIs
- SQL
- Strong back-end or cloud development experience in other stacks will also be considered.
- Experience in the energy sector is a plus but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Phase 1: Take on the role of Lead Developer, leading development across a modern serverless cloud stack while actively contributing hands-on.
- Own the development standards, technical decision-making, and tooling.
- Support agile delivery within small, self-managing teams.
- Phase 2: Transition into an Engineering Manager role, where you will grow, mentor, and manage multiple development teams (approximately 3 teams of 3).
- Coach junior developers and guide their technical career paths.
- Shape the engineering culture, implement best-practice processes, and design delivery frameworks.
- Take increasing ownership of the technical strategy as the founders transition away from day-to-day leadership.

We seek a Lead Developer who is eager to step into genuine engineering leadership, with a clear path toward Software Engineering Manager and eventual CTO-level responsibilities. Founded by two skilled developers who previously launched successful businesses, we are now looking for a central technical leader as we evolve.
