Requirements
Must:
- Proven hands-on experience as a Field Network Engineer, working with Aruba wireless solutions
- Strong experience configuring Aruba switches (AOS-S and AOS-CX)
- Excellent understanding of Aruba Central, including switch templates
- Solid knowledge of VLANs, trunking, and network segmentation
- Strong grounding in TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and routing fundamentals
- Confident troubleshooting network performance and stability issues
- Ability to interpret network diagrams and produce high-quality technical documentation
Responsibilities
- Configure and commission Aruba Access Points
- Perform wireless site surveys and optimise Wi-Fi coverage and performance
- Install and configure Aruba switches
- Configure and manage VLANs for segmentation, security, and performance
- Implement and maintain Layer 2/Layer 3 network configurations
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues across school environments
- Apply best practices in network security and stability
- Produce and maintain accurate network documentation
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver upgrades and new deployments
- Provide post-installation support, including handover documentation and knowledge transfer
Description
We are an organization providing infrastructure and network services to schools across the UK. We are looking for a Field Network Engineer for a short-term contract role, focusing on WiFi and network refresh projects in the Home Counties.
