Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience leading or managing developers.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, or developing capabilities for junior engineers.
- Ability to shape best practices, processes, and team culture.
- Familiarity with Python, AWS serverless (Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway), React/JavaScript, REST APIs, and SQL.
- Strong back-end or cloud developers from other stacks will be considered.
- Experience in the energy sector is beneficial but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead development across a modern, serverless cloud stack (AWS, Python, React, SQL).
- Collaborate closely with senior developers while contributing hands-on.
- Take ownership of development standards, technical decision-making, and tooling.
- Support agile delivery within small, self-managing teams.
- Grow, mentor, and manage multiple development teams (approximately 3 teams of 3).
- Coach junior developers and guide their technical career paths.
- Shape the engineering culture, best-practice processes, and delivery frameworks.
- Take increasing ownership of technical strategy as the founders step back.

We are searching for a Lead Developer who aspires to step into genuine engineering leadership, with a clear path toward Software Engineering Manager and eventual CTO-level responsibility. As the central technical leadership position in our organization, this role offers a perfect opportunity for a Lead Developer or Senior Developer who enjoys leading people and is motivated to influence the future of our engineering organization. We provide direct mentorship from experienced senior developers and founders, along with a hybrid working environment that allows for flexibility, typically requiring just 1 to 2 days onsite. This is a high-impact role where your decisions will actively shape our company’s future.
