Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in a dedicated software licensing or software asset management role.
- In-depth experience managing software licensing for at least one Tier 1 vendor (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
- Experience in the professional services sector with an understanding of the demands on support teams by the business.
- Proven experience conducting detailed data analysis from disparate sources and interpreting complex licensing models.
- Highly advantageous: Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM).
Responsibilities
- Improve the SAM strategy and governance to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
- Serve as a mediator between IT and third-party software suppliers, handling intricate license discussions.
- Offer advice on software licensing to optimize existing investments, minimize risks, and guide new purchases.
- Manage software vendor audits, mitigating risks and ensuring timely communication.
- Conduct internal software audits, generating Effective License Positions (ELPs) for renewals and negotiations.
- Understand complex license models from Enterprise vendors and assess their impact on our firm's strategy.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Legal teams to enhance contractual positions.
- Interpret vendor license models to negotiate optimal deals.
- Collect and maintain inventory data from various sources to manage assets.
- Ensure the accuracy of deployment and entitlement data in the SAM tool.
- Analyze software usage data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Implement efficient licensing models for projects and educate the Service Desk on SAM processes.
