Requirements
Must:
- Education to A level standard (computing degree desirable)
- Demonstrable skills in PowerShell and Automation
- Proficient with Microsoft Cloud services – 365, Security, Intune, Identity, Azure, Exchange, SharePoint
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Intune capabilities
- Experience with Windows operating systems and servers
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
- Knowledge in Layer 2/3 networking, including Aruba and Dell switches, Fortinet firewalls, Extreme WiFi
- Experience with virtualisation technologies like Microsoft Hyper-V and Veeam
- Skills in PC and Laptop Lifecycle, Imaging, Application packaging and deployment
- Understanding of security measures including encryption, antivirus (Sophos and Defender), and Microsoft security suite
- Experience with RMM, patch management and security posture monitoring
Responsibilities
- Deliver third-line technical support for the Schools IT infrastructure
- Serve as the lead technical specialist for infrastructure-related issues
- Maintain excellent communication with users and IT colleagues
- Carry out daily monitoring of the Schools infrastructure
- Develop, automate, and document operational procedures for the IT team
- Collaborate with the development team to specify complex coding automations
- Undertake regular maintenance and operational changes to the IT estate
- Act as the primary technical contact for external suppliers
- Use Microsoft Intune to maintain a standard operating environment for devices
- Ensure proper identification, management, and recording of end user devices
- Design and manage security measures for user devices
- Support the Support and Infrastructure Manager in annual project planning
- Take the technical lead in the installation of new IT systems
- Oversee the implementation, upgrade, and decommissioning of systems
- Lead security projects to meet standards such as Cyber Essentials+
- Advance cloud migration projects to reduce reliance on on-premises servers
