Requirements
Must:
- Experience with virtual desktop and server environments.
- Knowledge of research computing issues and opportunities.
- Experience working within a large-scale Linux server environment.
- Ability to present your ideas and specialist areas to a wide and potentially non-technical audience.
- Integrity to work with commercially sensitive and personally identifiable information.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts for the Secure Data Research Environments IT infrastructure and automation tooling required to deliver the Secure Data Environment, ensuring compliance with appropriate accreditations (e.g., Cyber Essentials/Plus, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Utilize a combination of virtualized and bare metal infrastructure to provide researchers secure access to specialized compute and storage capabilities.
- Take a leading role in the architecture and delivery of the service in collaboration with teams such as Cyber Security and Information Governance.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop a business model that supports the future expansion and sustainable operations of the service.
