Requirements
Must:
- I require extensive knowledge of modern database technologies, particularly Snowflake, as well as relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
- I seek a candidate with a broad understanding of software development techniques, processes, methods, and best practices, alongside proficiency with various programming languages.
- Strong leadership skills are essential, as I need someone who can motivate and guide teams towards successful project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for engaging effectively with stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset is a must, with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- I value excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of application test automation products, processes, and best practices is preferred.
- Proven experience with both Agile development and conventional methods is necessary.
- Strong strategic decision-making and long-term planning abilities are essential to manage resources and develop effective solutions to diverse business problems.
- A good general business acumen is important.
- Experience with Insurance and Reinsurance Systems and Data is required.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Python and PowerBI is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- I will oversee the delivery of strategic data programmes, ensuring adherence to defined scope, budget, and quality standards.
- You will work closely with Data Governance, Business, and key stakeholders to drive the programme and roadmap of change.
- I will monitor delivery progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
- You will prepare and present updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle will be part of your duties.
- I will oversee appropriate resourcing, identifying key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors; sourcing and managing appropriate vendor partners.
- It is important that you ensure deliveries align with the strategic vision and roadmap.
- You will ensure compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities, and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
- I expect you to be responsible for effective and timely development of new and/or enhanced systems/technologies.
- You will monitor all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle and Production Support service levels, ensuring high-level technical support is provided for data-related technologies.
- Collaboration with customers, other IT managers, and management will be necessary to identify and maximize opportunities to use technology to improve business processes, especially in data management.
- I expect you to prepare business cases, including financial analyses of potential new technologies, systems, and applications, evaluating them based on our strategic needs and resource availability.
- You will oversee business analysis, development work, and quality assurance of projects for assigned systems/technologies.
Description
This contract role is for an initial period of six months, requiring you to be onsite in our London office for two days a week. I am looking for a candidate with specific experience in the Insurance domain, particularly with the Lloyd's of London Market, as well as expertise in managing vendors and successfully delivering data platform transformation programs.
