Must:
We are looking for someone with over 15 years of experience in architecture and engineering, including at least 10 years working with contact center technologies and a minimum of 5 years specifically with Amazon Connect. You should have a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale Amazon Connect implementations with complex integrations. Expertise in AWS services such as IAM, VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Kinesis, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB is essential. Additionally, you should possess a strong knowledge of security and compliance frameworks like GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and the NHS DSP Toolkit. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK) and serverless development in Node.js or Python is preferred. Ideal candidates will also have AWS Solutions Architect – Professional and Amazon Connect specialization, along with experience in Contact Lens, Wisdom/Q in Connect, Voice ID, and outbound campaigns. Sector experience in healthcare, public sector, or regulated industries and familiarity with SIP, telephony routing, and Ofcom regulations will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade, cloud-based contact center solutions. Your core responsibilities will include defining the target architecture for Amazon Connect across voice, chat, and tasks while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region resilience. You will lead the migration from legacy platforms (such as Avaya, Cisco, and Genesys) to Amazon Connect, designing and implementing IVR/contact flows, Lex conversational bots, Contact Lens analytics, and agent assist capabilities. Architecting integrations with CRM/ITSM platforms (like Salesforce, ServiceNow, Dynamics, and Pega) and building API-driven architectures, event streams, and real-time analytics pipelines using AWS services will also be part of your tasks. You will need to implement security measures such as IAM, KMS encryption, VPC networking, and PrivateLink for secure connectivity. Ensuring compliance with various regulations is crucial. Additionally, you will establish CI/CD pipelines, define KPIs/SLAs, lead capacity planning, and conduct stakeholder engagement through workshops while preparing investment cases and compliance documentation.

This role will require you to uphold strict adherence to international data protection laws, financial and healthcare compliance mandates, and cloud security best practices. You will be accountable for producing audit-ready documentation, risk assessments, and governance artifacts for regulators worldwide. Your success metrics will include delivering a secure and compliant architecture aligned with global regulatory standards, achieving 99.99% availability, measurable improvements in customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS), and reducing average handling time (AHT). Completing the full migration from legacy platforms within agreed timelines and governance frameworks will also be a critical aspect of your role.
