We are seeking candidates who possess a detailed understanding of the DBA role, bringing knowledge of the technologies and tools necessary to manage, monitor, and maintain database systems. You should be a good team player who is flexible, shares knowledge, collaborates, and helps others. To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills: - Experience as an Oracle DBA with expertise in Oracle 19c and above, including: - Oracle Data Guard - Oracle RAC - RMAN backup/restore - Installation and upgrades - Data migration via data pump - Monitoring of database and host environments - Understanding of performance tuning and optimization techniques - Experience with SQL Server to support SQL environments (SQL Server 2012 or above) - Knowledge of Linux (preferably CentOS 7) and Windows scripting - Understanding of VMWare, JBOSS, and MQ (preferable) - ITIL Foundation level certification - Bachelor's degree in IT or a related discipline Please note that this role requires you to be eligible for SC Clearance, so it is only open to UK applicants.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will maintain several customer production environments, ensuring that they are available 24/7. Your responsibilities will include Oracle DBA work across multiple Oracle RACs and standalone databases, ensuring smooth database operations, Oracle patching, and maintenance, as well as keeping replication up to date. You will also maintain the environment hosting the Oracle databases and application. This includes monitoring, patching, and general maintenance of the Linux servers while supporting firewalls, IDS, and overall environment security. Your duties will entail installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle database software and related products and supporting development teams with SQL tuning and query optimization. In addition, you will produce and maintain database documentation, such as operating procedures, installation instructions, performance tuning, disaster recovery plans, configurations, and security policies and procedures. You will be expected to provide support to other projects/applications using other database technologies, such as SQL Server. Liaising with clients' technical, business, and support teams while ensuring effective information sharing will be crucial. Participation in disaster recovery planning and testing will also be part of your responsibilities.

You should be willing to be part of an out-of-hours Team Support Rota. Specific details regarding this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process.
