Requirements
Must:
- You must be eligible for and be required to obtain Security Clearance for this position. This means you will need to be a British Passport holder and a resident of the UK for the past 3 years. Existing clearance is advantageous.
- You should possess a quality and customer-first mindset.
- You need to have analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- You must demonstrate competent IT literacy around bespoke applications, operations, and service desk activities.
- Familiarity with operating system platforms such as Linux and Windows is required.
- Experience with support tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy is expected.
- You should be familiar with database concepts and have basic skills in SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
- You should demonstrate initiative, task ownership, and the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
- Experience working in complex systems environments is required.
- Ability to follow standard processes and procedures is necessary.
- An ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
- You should enjoy working within and across teams, including client and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver service during extended business hours, currently Monday to Friday, 08:00-18:00.
- Monitor operation dashboards for alerts and service issues.
- Monitor and answer the main phone during duty hours (on a rota) and take ownership or assign incidents to available team members.
- Record incidents in the ITSM tool, investigate issues, and raise problems and defect records when necessary.
- Take ownership of incidents and service requests, ensuring they are resolved within SLA.
- Develop workarounds and data corrections as appropriate and communicate to the client.
- Understand the severity of issues and escalate to management as appropriate.
- Create and execute test cases aligned with defined scenarios.
- Perform release testing and daily checks of applications and middleware.
- Fulfill data transfer requests and install, configure, and upgrade applications.
- Provide on-site services to clients on an ad-hoc basis, including installation, training, and testing.
- Support the team in continuously improving by raising suggestions and highlighting areas of concern.
- Compile statistics and produce regular reports from Dev Ops Azure showing metrics around support defect numbers.
