Requirements
Must:
- I am seeking candidates with a degree that has a strong mathematical foundation (engineering, physics, etc.).
- I require at least a basic level of modelling or programming skills (e.g., Python).
- A structured working style is essential; I need someone who values clear reporting, presentations, and planning, and is comfortable proactively engaging with stakeholders.
- I look for candidates who are knowledgeable and/or willing to learn various digital business tools, such as Loop, Power BI, DevOps, MS Projects, etc.
- Comfort with questioning the status quo is important; I need someone who sees inefficiencies and feels confident speaking up.
- Availability for in-office meetings when required (e.g., 1-2 days a week) is a must.
Desirable:
- A basic understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with energy conversion systems (CCGT, Hydro, Battery, CO2 capture, etc.) is a plus.
- An Operational Excellence mindset, focused on client needs and process improvement, is preferred.
- The ability to speak German would be advantageous but is not required.
Responsibilities
- I want you to support the team with thermodynamic modelling and data analysis to drive improvements in our Power Plants.
- You will help deploy the Performance Monitoring Process to our Power Plants.
- I expect you to collaborate with interfacing teams to understand and utilize our data effectively.
- You will be responsible for driving small improvement projects, both within our team and in collaboration with other teams at Uniper.
- Be prepared for occasional travel between Uniper sites throughout the UK, as well as international trips when necessary.
