Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of audio-visual experience, specifically in installation, onsite support, or technical support. You should have the ability to terminate cables, particularly Cat5/6, RS232, and Audio TRS. A strong understanding of audio room acoustic optimization in various environments is essential. We value effective communication skills at all levels, especially in client-facing situations. You must possess good numeracy and written skills, along with strong organizational abilities to prioritize your workload effectively while proactively engaging with clients. A quick response to service desk tickets is necessary, and you should be able to work both individually and as part of a team. Good timekeeping is crucial, and professional attire is expected according to the job at hand. You must be fully compliant with The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, hold a clean driving license, and be a current passport holder. AVIXA CTS certification is essential, while additional qualifications such as Crestron P101, Extron School of AV, Cisco CCIP, and Microsoft Teams core skills are desirable. Knowledge of networking, particularly identifying issues related to Dante/AES67 concerning QoS/PTP/IGMP, is also a plus.

Responsibilities

As an Audio Visual Service Engineer, you will provide field-based service and support to our clients, working both independently and as part of a service team. Your role involves servicing and supporting audio-visual, video conferencing, pro audio, and control equipment. You will be responsible for the safe and correct diagnosis of faults, removal, repair, testing, implementation, and operation of all aspects of audio-visual, video conferencing, display, and presentation technologies. Your duties will include carrying out preventative maintenance visits and conducting training sessions for end users when required during these visits. You will also be responsible for post-implementation fault finding, testing, and repair of audio-visual equipment across various job sites and client types. Onsite work will take up approximately 80% of your time, while the remaining 20% will involve providing phone/email technical support, completing post-job and preventative maintenance reports, and engaging in product research and development for client requirements. We also expect you to continue your personal development plan and stay aware of our IMS and Quality Policy.

This role requires a technical understanding of AV systems and service within a corporate environment and is open to candidates within a commutable distance of Maidenhead. You will have the opportunity to work with various technologies, including audio (program and speech, DSP-based systems), projection and display devices, custom control systems, audio and video conferencing tools, digital signage systems, video wall display systems, IPTV solutions, and live event work. Cleanliness on site and effective communication with customers and site contacts is expected, along with strict adherence to site rules, procedures, and health and safety protocols. Additionally, you may be called upon for adhoc on-site technical cover in the event of annual leave or sickness.
