Requirements
Must:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent or extensive employment experience across a range of roles with increasing levels of responsibility
- Demonstrable experience of utilising a range of complex IT systems to an advanced level, including knowledge of activities such as system security, data cleansing, system auditing, and control procedures
- Experience of Ellucian Banner, Tribal SITS, or a student record system
- Experience of system configuration
- Proven ability to resolve problems with expediency, intelligence, and sensitivity
- Good numerical skills and ability to interpret complex management information
- Highly organised with attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work within specified deadlines on a high-volume and complex workload
- Experience of identifying and making improvements to existing processes and procedures
- Ability to work independently and with initiative; operate successfully in team and collaborative contexts
- Ability to produce effective, robust reports based on understanding and manipulating complex statistical data
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects
- Working experience of PRINCE2, Agile, ITIL, or other IT-related standards (desirable)
- An interest in streamlining and improving business processes (desirable)
- Experience of student administration within an HE environment (desirable)
- Familiarity with reporting tools and SQL (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Configuration of system infrastructure
- Contribution to system security user access role profiling and person record configuration
- Development of experience cards and workflows with rules and automated processes
- Creation of system extensions as required
- Configuration to produce outputs such as transcripts, applicant offer letters, and certificates of enrolment
- Setup of requests forms, workflows, and automation for processes like withdrawals and leave of absence
- Configuration of application forms and related workflows, document management, system archiving, indexing, purging, and data retention
- Conduct functional testing before transferring to user acceptance testing, identifying test cases, and escalating defect resolutions
- Issue resolution and liaising with project team and Ellucian User Support
- Creation and amendment of operational reports within Ellucian Insights
- Support statutory reporting functionalities including for UKVI, HESA, and other bodies
- Contribute to specification requirements for system integration based on new data fields
- Participation in workshops and ongoing capability planning
- Aid in data migration planning and mapping
- Contribute to the evolution of the system data dictionary
- Assist in user access roles profiling and person record configuration
- Aid in preparing for BAU plan and system/data governance at project end
- Work with complex data, designing report criteria and support colleagues in producing information and responding to FOI requests
- Design and update standard operating procedures and documentation for customizations and systems processes
- Build and maintain a network of contacts across the University and with external partners
- Undertake other duties as required in line with the role
Description
We are the University of Stirling, embarking on an exciting transformation of our student systems infrastructure through the implementation of a new Student Information System – Ellucian. This fixed-term role will be an integral part of our core project team, providing crucial input across all capabilities.
