Requirements
Must:
- Significant experience in strategic planning, research intelligence, or policy development within the health sector, scientific research or Government environment.
- Knowledge and working experience of the UKs health data ecosystem, with an understanding of the legal, regulatory and governance context.
- Ability to engage effectively with technical and scientific specialists in areas such as data architecture, medical research, as well as legal and compliance.
- Proven ability to review, understand and interpret complex technical and policy information and translate it into clear, actionable policy or strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and briefings for boards, committees, etc.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of UK Biobanks ambitious data and technology agenda.
- Shape areas such as data governance, platform security, and new technology partnerships.
- Work closely with the Director of Data Policy and colleagues across Data & Technology, Data Management, Legal, and Engagement Teams.
- Ensuring informed decisions are made about how our data is used and managed at scale.
- Contribute to major transformation initiatives, such as the next generation Trusted Research Environment (TRE).
- Help ensure policy is embedded into delivery while engaging stakeholders and communicating complex topics clearly.
